Hello!
I am a 26-year-old CF patient, and I am considering writing a series of articles about the experience of those living with chronic or terminal conditions. I think that those of us with conditions that have such a direct impact on both our day-to-day life and longterm outlook have a valuable story to share, both to inspire those who have similar experiences and to encourage those who have different experiences.
I don't want this to just be my story — I want it to be the stories of others. I want to tell your story, and the story of others in the CF community.
I am imagining a series of pieces about those with chronic or terminal illnesses, and how their conditions affect their outlook on some of the most simplistic issues humans face. For example:
How does a CF diagnosis affect someone’s views on faith? How does it affect how they view finances?
How does a CF diagnosis shape someone’s career path? How does someone navigate the dating world?
How does a CF patient view the political landscape? How do they view healthcare?
I'd like as broad of perspectives as possible. I admittedly don't exactly know what the finished product will look like, but I'd like to hear from you if you'd be willing to share your story. PM me if you're interested in chatting.
*Note: I have a degree in journalism, formerly worked for the IndyStar in Indianapolis and am now a corporate communications professional. I would take your privacy and confidentiality very seriously if you chose to talk with me about your life experiences, and would treat our conversations with the utmost respect.
