Hair loss

I'm a woman in my 40s with CF. I'm on a modulator. Recently I have started having my hair fall out. It's coming out in clumps and filling out my hair brush when I brush my hair. Has anyone had this happen to them? If so, what did you do for it and how did you fall with it? Being a woman having any type of hair loss or thinning is very hard mentally.

  1. My heart goes out to you, this sounds so hard to be experiencing. While I can't speak to this personally, I wanted to share an article with you written by one of our health leaders. I hope knowing that you're not alone helps bring some sense of comfort. Have you tried speaking with your doctors about the hair loss? Please keep us posted. Sending hugs your way. -Beth (Team Member)

    1. Me too. I’m a carrier and have had recurring serious sinus infections for years. Fungal and bacterial. Now on picc line and having to watch hair fall out just one more thing I’ve lost. Very sad. Trying oral men Rogaine and finesteride and it’s not helping

      1. I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through this—it sounds incredibly tough. Hair loss can be such a difficult experience, especially when it starts to impact your confidence and mental well-being. It's not uncommon for women, especially those with underlying health conditions or on certain medications, to experience hair loss, but that doesn't make it any easier to handle.

One approach that might help is focusing on overall scalp and hair health. This could include gentle hair care practices, such as avoiding harsh treatments, using nourishing shampoos and conditioners, and perhaps incorporating a supplement that supports hair growth—though it's always best to consult your doctor before starting any new regimen.

It's also important to acknowledge the emotional toll that hair loss can take. Finding a support system, whether through friends, family, or even a community like this one, can make a significant difference. Sometimes, just knowing you're not alone in this experience can provide a bit of comfort.

Interestingly, some studies have shown that hydrogen water might have potential benefits for promoting hair growth and reducing oxidative stress, which is linked to hair loss. While it's not a cure-all, it could be something to explore further. If you're interested, you can check out more about this at (https://h2aura.com/).

I hope you find a solution that works for you, and that you're able to connect with others who have faced similar challenges. Please take care, and remember that you're not alone in this.

        1. How are you doing today? Thank you so much for taking the time to share with the community. It sounds like you have done a lot of research, and we appreciate your willingness to share. Have you personally used the hydrogen water? -Beth (Team Member)
