Please help I need insurance advice

Hello, I just got the saddening call yesterday that my transplant clinic is dropping me because my insurance was no longer accepting their clinic. I was devastated to say the least. Does anyone knowbwhat I can do ? They suggested I change hospitals, but I have just begun to trust this particular hospital, and have a long way (out of state) drive to anywhere else, this was the closest option for me. I am very saddened. The state I was getting transplanted in,without naming specific hospital names, was in Lexington Kentucky. They no longer accept Blue Cross Blue Shield Anthem. I feel so stuck. Please what do I do now? Thank you. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’”

  1. Hi ,
I am so sorry to hear you are going through such a hard change. I know what you mean when you say you were just starting to feel at home there. Does the transplant clinic have a social worker? You can attempt and out-network appeal. I did this once when my CF clinic was out of network. You would have to prove that receiving care there is beneficial to your health (which is sounds like it is). Ask the transplant social worker to help you. I hope you are able to figure it out!

    1. Hello, no I haven't yet. I tried to get an appointment with my doctor , but he said he is booked this month and would try to squeeze me in if he had a cancellation if not I havw to wait another month. Thank you for the good advice. Thankfully and warmly back, "cftwin2"
